Funding & donations
Where our funding comes from — and how a gift reaches a student
SLIHSD is funded mainly by the people who study with us. Donations and partnerships close the gap for learners who cannot pay, and pay for the computers, power and connectivity that make classes possible in Mile 91.
Our funding
How SLIHSD programmes are funded
We are transparent about this: we are a young, self-funded institution. There is no endowment and no donor grant behind us.
Fees are set to be affordable rather than to generate surplus, which is why donated support matters so much. We do not claim grant funding, accreditation or partner relationships that we do not have.
Where it goes
What donations pay for
Every gift is recorded against one of these areas — you choose which when you pledge.
The journey of a gift
How a donation reaches a student
Five steps, from your pledge to a learner sitting in class.
1. You pledge
You complete the form on this page choosing what your gift supports. Nothing is paid on the website — the form records your intention only.
2. We confirm with you
A member of the team contacts you on WhatsApp, phone or email to confirm the amount or items, and agree how the gift is transferred or delivered.
3. The gift is recorded
Every gift is logged against the fund you chose — scholarships, equipment, connectivity, furniture or where the need is greatest.
4. It is applied
Cash gifts to the scholarship fund are applied directly to named learners' fees. Equipment is put into service at the training room or CCAP centre.
5. You are told what it did
You receive an acknowledgement and, where you have asked for it, a short written update on how the gift was used.
What one gift covers
- SLE 100 — one learner's registration fee
- SLE 2,500 — one full 1–3 month certificate place
- SLE 3,500 — one 3–6 month certificate place
- SLE 5,000 — one longer 6–18 month programme place
- A laptop, projector or set of chairs — used by every cohort that follows
How we protect your gift
- No payment is collected through this website, so no card or account details are ever entered here.
- Gifts are only received after a confirmed conversation with the institute — we will never ask you to send money to a personal account without written confirmation.
- Every pledge is recorded against the fund the donor selected, and scholarship gifts are applied to learner fees.
- Donors may give anonymously; we will not name you publicly if you ask us not to.
- Scholarship applicants are never charged anything to be considered.
