CCAP
A community digital learning centre in Mile 91
CCAP is SLIHSD's community access initiative: a shared digital learning space so that lack of a computer or an internet connection does not decide who gets to learn.

What CCAP is for
Shared access, so learning is not a privilege
In and around Mile 91, many capable learners have no personal computer, no stable electricity at home and no affordable internet. CCAP exists to remove that barrier by putting equipment, power and connectivity in one community space that people can use.
The centre supports SLIHSD learners taking online and blended modules, and is intended to open more widely to students, teachers, young people and small organisations in the community who need somewhere to work, learn and practise digital skills.
It occupies the former MADAM building behind Winners Church in Mile 91 — a locally known location that is reachable on foot for many of the people it is meant to serve.
Progress so far
What has been achieved
We deliberately do not publish learner numbers or impact figures we have not verified. Where we can evidence results, we will report them.
Current challenges
What is holding the centre back
These are the real constraints today. Naming them is how we invite the right help.
Computers
The number of working machines limits how many learners can sit a session at once.
Electricity
Power supply is inconsistent, which interrupts classes and shortens usable teaching hours.
Furniture
Desks, chairs and secure storage are needed to seat a full class safely.
Renovation
The building requires repair, wiring, painting and security improvements.
Internet
Reliable connectivity and data are needed for online modules and research.
Equipment
Projector, printer, backup power and basic accessories for practical teaching.
Limited funds
Operating costs are currently met from very limited resources, restricting how far the centre can reach.
