1. Who we are

This website and our training services are provided by Sierra Leone Institute for Humanitarian and Sustainable Development ("SLIHSD", "we", "us"), Mile 91, Tonkolili District, Sierra Leone. When you use this site, apply for a programme or pay a fee, you are contracting with Sierra Leone Institute for Humanitarian and Sustainable Development.

2. Acceptance

By accessing or continuing to use this website or our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

3. Our services

We offer short professional development certificates and training in humanitarian practice, public health, digital skills and related fields, delivered online, in person and in blended formats. Certificates are professional development awards; programmes marked "proposed" are not open for enrolment and are subject to institutional and regulatory approval.

4. Your responsibilities

• You must be of legal age, or have consent of a parent or guardian, and have authority to act for any organisation you represent.
• Provide accurate information in applications and keep it up to date.
• Keep any account credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the service, including by:

• using it for any unlawful purpose or in breach of applicable law;
• fraud, impersonation, spam or submitting false applications;
• infringing intellectual property rights, including copying or redistributing course materials;
• interfering with security — uploading malware, probing or scanning systems, scraping, or attempting unauthorised access;
• reverse engineering, reselling or circumventing technical limits of the service.

6. Intellectual property

We retain all ownership of the website, software, course materials, syllabuses, documentation, logo and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use materials for your personal learning only.

7. Payments, billing and refunds

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. See also our Refund Policy.

8. Service level

We aim to keep the service available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. Schedules, delivery modes and content may change.

9. Disclaimer and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" without implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including loss of profits, data or goodwill). Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. On termination we may delete your account data in line with our Privacy Notice.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sierra Leone, and disputes are subject to the courts of Sierra Leone. We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
