Scholarships and bursaries for deserving applicants
Cost should not decide who gets to build professional skills. SLIHSD offers bursaries, partial fee waivers and instalment arrangements so that motivated learners in Sierra Leone can study while they work.
What is available
Scholarship categories
Each category is funded case by case from institutional resources and partner support. Apply to the one that best describes your situation.
Eligibility
Who can apply
We keep the criteria simple and check them honestly during a short verification call.
Priority is given to
- Applicants currently serving communities as unpaid volunteers
- Women moving into technical or leadership roles
- Young people with no previous professional training
- Applicants with a disability
- Applicants supporting dependants on an irregular income
Indicative fees for reference: registration SLE 100; programme fees by duration 1–3 months SLE 2,500 · 3–6 months SLE 3,500 · 6–18 months SLE 5,000. Scholarships reduce or remove the programme fee depending on what has been funded.

Applications are reviewed in batches against the criteria and the funding available at the time.

You are told in writing what support, if any, is offered — full bursary, partial waiver, or instalment arrangement.

Enrolment
If supported, you complete the normal admissions steps and join the next available cohort.
Applications are reviewed in batches as funding allows. Because SLIHSD is a developing institution, we do not publish a fixed number of awards — we fund what our resources and partners genuinely allow.
